Do we smile enough?

About a year ago I was browsing in a flea market in SF when 2 little portraits caught my attention. When it’s about collecting creepy/useless stuff my OCD kicks in and I get really hyped, so I brought them home for a few bucks. Of course none of my roommates wanted those creepy things hanging in the living room, so I had to hide them in my room, close to my speakers. In those days I was working on a new loop that slowly became “When U Smile”. Even if this young lady in the portrait is not smiling at all, I have to say that somehow she inspired the development of the track, especially that melancholic note. While working on the music, I kept asking myself who she was and why she looked so damn serious. She made me think about the importance of a smile. Smiling to somebody or receiving a smile recharges our soul. So why don’t we smile more?

Enjoy this track, meanwhile I'll work to a new one inspired by the other portrait.
